What happened
On May 30, 2026 (UTC), AFI Protocol's afiUSD vault on Ethereum was exploited for approximately $480,000. AFI said it paused the affected vault, rotated operational keys, and began recovery work; about $252,000 in DAI was later converted to ETH and approximately 150 ETH was sent to Tornado Cash.
How it happened
The attacker drained assets from the afiUSD vault, then swapped approximately $252,000 in DAI to ETH and routed approximately 150 ETH to Tornado Cash, according to AFI's incident update as reported by CryptoTimes and corroborating transaction data.
