BLUEHYPER Honeypot
What happened
BLUEHYPER (BLUE) is a BNB Smart Chain reflection token with a 1% reflection fee and a 9% liquidity fee. Its private _transfer begins with require(tx.origin == to || tx.origin == owner());, so a transfer succeeds only when the wallet that started the transaction is the recipient or the owner. A purchase delivers tokens from the pair to the buyer, who is tx.origin, so it passes; a sale moves tokens from the holder into the pair, so to is not tx.origin and the call reverts.
De.Fi's REKT database lists the token as an exit scam/honeypot in which the owner could disable transfers and restrict users from selling; no sale attempt, transaction or loss figure was opened for this record.
How it happened
What the code allows:
transferandtransferFromboth call the private_transfer, whose fourth line isrequire(tx.origin == to || tx.origin == owner());with no revert message.- A buy through an AMM sends tokens from the pair to the buyer. The buyer started the transaction, so
tx.origin == toand the transfer passes. - A sell through an AMM calls
transferFrom(holder, pair, amount).tois the pair andtx.originis the holder, so neither side of the||is true and the sale reverts. The same check also reverts an ordinary transfer from one wallet to another, because the recipient is not the originating wallet. - Any transaction started by the owner passes through
tx.origin == owner(), so the owner can transfer or sell where holders cannot.owner()returns the stored_owner, and the contract also definesrenounceOwnership(); an eth_call read on 2026-09-30 returned the deployer address as owner, which is not historical evidence of what the owner did. - The fee setters are not capped:
setTaxFeePercent(uint256 taxFee)andsetliquidityFeePercent(uint256 liquidityFee)write_taxFeeand_liquidityFeedirectly._getTValuescomputestTransferAmount = tAmount.sub(tFee).sub(tLiquidity), so a combined rate of 100 leaves the recipient with 0 while the sender is debited the fullrAmount, and a combined rate above 100 makessubrevert for every fee-paying transfer. The owner and the contract address are excluded from fees by default.
De.Fi's REKT database lists BLUEHYPER as an exit scam/honeypot dated 2021-06-05 where holders could not sell. No transaction showing a failed sale, a fee change, or liquidity removal was opened for this record.
